Tuesday Oct 14, 9:00 – 11:00 Exercise and Bathe Pets at the Shelter: Assess any sick pets: Look for adoption opportunities
October 14 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
We visit the Shelter with helping pets in mind. That includes letting dogs and puppies out to play in the exercise kennels. We want to organize another exercise kennel so more pets can play for longer.
We bathe pets. Pets are mostly in confined areas and cannot escape contact with waste products. By giving baths, the pets are cleaner, happier, healthier and more adoptable.
We stay on the look out for “at-risk” puppies and kittens. If they are old enough and healthy, we bathe them to remove fleas. If they are young and have no mother we intervene. We take them to the vet. We find a member to foster and nurse the pets to health. We, then, make every effort to find a good home without needing to return those little pets to the Shelter. We have been very successful with that program and many seriously, at-risk pets are now in wonderful homes where they are loved.
This doesn’t happen without you. Won’t you register and attend one of our Shelter sessions? You will meet nice people and feel good about yourself.
Thank you a million times to those who volunteer already. You have made a HUGE difference and sacrificed doing so.
Vicki
