        Welcome and Introductions – Vicki welcomed Ed and Rhonda Wilkerson, Aretha Freeman, Rory and Dalton and Brad Cox

        Brad Cox with Alabama One Credit Union provided members with a meal from Fannies and explained that FOTAS’ partnership with AL1 offers FOTAS members benefits as well.  He encouraged members to reach out to him for more details.  Mr. Cox also thanked FOTAS members for their service to the community on behalf of animals.

        Report on the Animal Shelter as of 11 am:
        3 adult cats, 4 puppies without a mom, 5 puppies plus mom, 6 puppies plus mom,
        7 additional adult dogs, 3 with hold tags

        Update on Non-Profit application–  FOTAS has obtained 5013C status which will allow us to partner with other organizations and apply for grants.

        The Fowlers learned from Petsmart in Columbus, MS that our 5013C status will allow us to work with them to get our shelter pets adopted at their store.

        Treasure’s Report : $4031.04 in checking and $6000 CD (6 month). Steve has provided an accounting system designed for 5013C specifics.

        Plan to place another T-shirt order.  FOTAS stickers ordered.

        Pass the hat for Maddie – Thanks to Amy Maddie has a home in Vermont.  She and  Donna Dodson obtained Maddie’s health certificate and have arranged transportation.  Members passed the hat to help with Maddie’s expenses.

        Update on George – (see Steve’s story on Facebook)  Mrs. Toni initiated the plight of George, a surrendered dog.  Steve featured George on FOTAS Facebook and Petfinder. A couple from PA offered to adopt him.  Jamie and Greg Davis graciously volunteered to board George while transportation was arranged, a heart warming story was written and shared about the group effort to find George a home and the day before he was to leave…the PA couple backed out of taking George.  The Davis’ have gotten attached and considering adopting George.

        Social Media Report. Follow and Share!!! – Steve complimented the group’s compassion and efforts to improve the lives of pets and explained that his goal is to capture this in the stories in writes and shares online.  He reiterated the importance of SHARING our posts.  He also thanked Alyssa for assisting him with the online duties and photos.  FOTAS Facebook has 1200+ followers and FOTAS website has 25k+ views.

        County Council Meeting: Vicki and Steve Fowler, Toni Robertson, Durel Landry, Alyssa Stutts, Kim Dodson, Jane Newman, Carolyn Junkin, Amy and Jamie LeClair, Jill Hallman, Christa and Aliyah Smith attended Feb 10 meeting.

        Election of officers will be held in April.

        Other Business:  Carly and Carson proposed and others agreed to participate in Berry’s Heritage Festival in April.

        Next meeting: March meeting will be at Fannie’s Restaurant.
