I feel a poster of duties listed for each kennel for dogs, or cages for cats, is needed visible for volunteers at the shelter , so the volunteers know which dog or kitten has been bathed. That way the same dog will not get a bath all three of our volunteer days.
Carmalinda Farley, photographer have visited the shelter approximately 4-5 times to take pictures of the pets, dogs and cats. The main thing we see a need to be is for socialization. They are literally “starving” not for food, as Phil and Patricia make sure they are well fed, but for attention. They try to climb the pens to get to us, seeking our attention. They are so happy to see us, barking and jumping. We take their photos, pet them and give them treats on the day we go. There needs to be more people allowed to go to pet and get them socialized, so that they may be adopted. This is such a need!
I think offering a small reward for a return of a small pet is a great idea.
